EU-Asia Higher Education Forum
June 24-26, 2026, Haus der Wirtschaft, Stuttgart
Main Forum Day: June 26 (with surrounding program June 24–25)
Future Skills: Creativities, Technologies and Planetary Responsibilities in Higher Education
How can educational research shape learning environments in which higher-order cognition, critical thinking, creativity, and social intelligence can thrive — those distinctly human qualities that make the difference in an age shaped by AI and automation? And how can shared, internationally compatible frameworks for graduate attributes emerge that offer orientation while remaining open enough to reflect diverse cultural, institutional, and national contexts?
The Forum convenes a curated group of international universities to move beyond narrow employability narratives of “future skills” and instead explore how higher education can develop individuals who are technologically capable, ethically grounded, and able to act within complex global systems.
In the spirit of the FUTUROMUNDO Cross Innovation Festival 2026, it creates a dialogical space that goes beyond traditional conference formats: a place for bold perspectives, collaborative learning across continents, and meaningful exchange between European and Asian higher education contexts.
The Forum is designed as a structured, evidence-based format contributing to international education policy discourse. All contributions follow a shared analytical framework to ensure comparability and enable a joint synthesis of insights.
The aim is not only to discuss the future, but to actively shape it — through new alliances, international cooperation, and a shared understanding of the competencies higher education must cultivate to empower people to act responsibly in a complex, interconnected world.
Who takes part – and how do I become a delegate? What are the expectations?
Participation as an exclusive delegate is by personal invitation only. Selected delegates are invited to confirm their participation. The number of institutions is limited to ensure a focused and high-quality exchange.
All delegates are expected to actively contribute to the Forum through a structured input.
The objective is not a collection of individual perspectives, but the generation of shared insights and actionable conclusions.
Expected Outcomes
-
Comparative synthesis of international approaches
-
Policy-oriented report with recommendations
-
Contribution to ongoing education policy debates
All results will be shared with participants after the Forum.
